Roanoke-Chowan Community College administers the NC_DAP placement tests free of charge to all students who are entering a program or who are taking courses with a placement test prerequisite.
The NC DAP placement test assesses a student’s skills in English and reading (DREs), and math (DMAs) and identifies which course or courses best fit the student’s skill level.
The tests consist of reading, revising and editing, a writing sample, and mathematics. Students take certain tests, or the whole sequence, depending upon their program or course choices. Students may be exempt from some or all placement testing.
Other tests administered include the TABE applicants for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) I & II, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Phlebotomy, Law Enforcement as well as high school equivalency diploma (GED).
Exemption from Placement Testing.
Exemption from testing may apply to special credit applicants (non-degree seeking), certificate applicants, and transfer applicants.
Other exemptions may be granted based upon the following assessment test scores.
