R-CCC Small Business Center hosts open house

(AHOSKIE) The Small Business Center at Roanoke-Chowan Community College hosted an ‘open house’ on April 5th with featured speaker Dr. Lakeisha Walker, Bridge of Hope Transformational Life Services.

Executive Vice President Stephanie Benson welcomed guests to the open house remarking on the importance of having a small business center in the area to assist business owners and entrepreneurs in the rural Roanoke-Chowan area.

Derrick Armstead, director of the center, introduced the keynote speaker, saying she used the center’s services to assist her in opening her own small business.

"What is your dream?" asked Dr. Walker. "If you have a vision, then you can make a plan to make it come true."

Walker encouraged others to take advantage of the small business center services including free seminars, consulting, counseling and resources for aspiring entrepreneurs. The center can assist with business plans, marketing plans, industry research, and financials. Located on the main campus of Roanoke-Chowan Community College, the center is open and free to the public.

"We are dedicated to local economic improvement and job creation in Hertford, Bertie, and Northampton Counties," states Armstead. "I invite you to take advantage of the services we offer to create or assist with the success of your business."
