Women’s Empowerment Day

 

AHOSKIE, NC –Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) invites the community to a special Women’s History Month & Women’s Empowerment Day celebration on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the Freeland Building’s Community Room. This inspiring event will honor the achievements of women, past and present, while recognizing outstanding local leaders who have made a meaningful impact in their communities.
 
Dr. Mary Ruffin-Harrell with the R-CCC Board of Trustees will serve as the keynote speaker, sharing her personal journey and insights on women’s progress, resilience and empowerment.
 
As part of the celebration, R-CCC will recognize the 2025 Women’s Empowerment Day Honorees, who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service:
 

  • Meryl Brown – Realtor, Carolina Land and Home Realty, LLC
  • Pat Byrd – Executive Director & Site Coordinator, R-C Christian Women’s Job Corps
  • Jeri Pierce – Trustee, Roanoke-Chowan Community College

 
This event is an opportunity to honor women’s history, culture, and contributions while celebrating the strength and leadership of those who inspire change in our community.
