R-CCC hosts "Salute to Veterans"
Roanoke-Chowan Community College paid tribute and honor to veterans in its annual ‘Salute to Veterans’ on Thursday, November 11th.
Presenting the Colors was the Hertford County Fire Fighters Association.
Beverly Sessoms, (left) Medical Office/Office Administration Program, retired, US Air Force (1980 – 2000) was one of the faculty/staff veterans recognized during the ceremony by Ruchelle Ricks, Director of Financial Aid and Veterans Certifying Official for the college.
Honoring our local veterans (left to right) Jill Perry, student dependent and her spouse, Joseph Perry, U.S. Marines, Derrick Armstead, director of Small Business Center, retired US Marines, and the event speaker; College President Murray J. Williams, who gave opening remarks; Beverly Sessoms, Medical Office/Office Administration Programs, retired, US Air Force, Timothy Lassiter, director, facilities management, retired, U.S. Army and National Guard.

Event was well attended and audience members wore red, white, and blue in honor of the day.
