R-CCC receives ‘clean audit’ from NC State Auditor
Roanoke-Chowan Community College has received a ‘clean’ audit from the Office of the State Auditor’s (OSA). The office notified the college’s board of trustees on January 31, 2022 that the "results of our tests disclosed no instances of noncompliance or other matters that are required to be reported under Government Auditing Standards".
In making the announcement, Dr. Murray J. Williams, president of the college, said, "I am extremely pleased to report the findings of the government audit. Our outstanding trustees, leadership team, faculty, and staff have worked together in day-to-day financial management to achieve all governmental accounting requirements. I am proud of the excellent team we have assembled in the office of administrative and fiscal management for Roanoke-Chowan Community College."
The audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, is the culmination of an effort that began nine months ago to strengthen financial and management accountability at Roanoke-Chowan Community College under the leadership of Dr. Williams and the college’s board of trustees.
"I am also pleased to welcome Dr. LaToya McNeill Wiley as our new vice president of administrative and fiscal services," continued Dr. Williams. "Dr. Wiley will coordinate a team of professionals in financial management to oversee fiscal services for the college. She brings a wealth of experience in finance and administration including governmental statutory requirements. With her guidance, along with our outstanding trustees, faculty, and staff, we will continue this record of excellence in fiscal management."
