Spring break is here and it is time to start thinking about summer school at Roanoke-Chowan Community College!

The summer school schedule has been announced with an emphasis on college transfer success. For university students who are at home for the summer, there are many classes available for you to get ahead when you return to that four-year institution. For community college students, think about taking general college classes in the summer so you can focus on program-specific courses in the fall and spring.

Make your fall and spring more manageable by taking classes in the summer to get ahead. Summer school often means smaller class sizes and faculty who are available for one-on-one counseling and mentoring. Our campus is a little quieter in the summer and you can get a lot done.

We are also excited about apprenticeships at our college. This spring we are launching a campaign with NC Community Colleges to increase apprenticeship opportunities in business, healthcare, and manufacturing. We are currently partnering with healthcare and local businesses to place students in successful apprenticeships.

Called ApprenticeshipNC, the campaign will show the benefits of apprenticeships and how it is a winning partnership between colleges, industries, and student apprentices. Apprenticeship is one way we can develop skilled talent to meet the current and future needs of workers and businesses to achieve and sustain economic prosperity.
