The R-CCC Foundation received over $20,000 in scholarships for students from SECU Foundation
(Ahoskie, NC) The Roanoke-Chowan Community College Foundation received over $20,000 in scholarships from the State Employees Credit Union Foundation on Monday, November 13, 2023. The credit union awarded two scholarships: SECU’s People Helping People scholarship and SECU’s Bridge to Career scholarship.
Viola Holland, Advisory Board Member for SECU’s Ahoskie Branch, presented Dynasia Lassiter and Tiffanie Wells with the 2023 SECU’s People Helping People scholarship. Each student will receive a $5,000 scholarship to help them reach their educational goals. During the presentation, Holland stated, “We are so pleased that the Foundation’s two-year scholarship program continues to play a significant role in making college more accessible and affordable for students to obtain a degree.”
Brunet Parker, Advisory Board Member for SECU’s Murfreesboro Branch, presented the Bridge to Career scholarship to the Roanoke-Chowan Community College Foundation. The scholarship provides $15,000 for student scholarships and an additional $3,000 for administrative expenses.
Andre’ Lassiter, Chair of the Roanoke-Chowan Community College Foundation, expressed his sincere appreciation to the SECU Foundation for their continued support of Roanoke-Chowan Community College students. Lassiter stated, “SECU's generosity has opened doors to education, creating pathways for dreams to flourish for our students here at R-CCC. As the Foundation Chair, I am thrilled to receive the scholarship funds, which serve as a testament to their unwavering dedication to supporting education.
