R-CCC Nursing Grads earn 100% Pass Rate on NCLEX

R-CCC Nursing Grads earn 100% Pass Rate on NCLEX

AHOSKIE, NC –Roanoke-Chowan Community College’s (R-CCC) 2024 nursing graduates have earned a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)-RN. According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing website, the passing standards for the NCLEX-RN reflect the amount of nursing ability currently required to practice competently at the entry level. NCLEX results are an important component used by boards of nursing to make decisions about licensure.

“Our students, faculty, staff, and community partners have demonstrated remarkable dedication and hard work throughout the past two years. As a result of this hard work, we have achieved the outstanding result of a 100% NCLEX first time pass rate for 2024. This reflects a true commitment to excellence by everyone involved. We are extremely proud of our graduates and confident that they are well-prepared to make a positive impact in the nursing field and to enhance our community's health and wellness,” said R-CCC Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Director Stacey Futrell about the accomplishment.

The R-CCC registered nurses’ (RN) pass rate was 91% for those graduating in May 2023. That means that 10 out of 11 graduates passed the exam on their first attempt. The national first time RN pass rate is 86%. Passing the NCLEX is usually the final step in the nurse licensure process.

“The 100% pass rate of our 2024 nursing graduates shows that R-CCC is preparing our students for the workforce. Providing this training has taken the efforts of many people at the college and we are so proud of our graduates. This is a prime example of how R-CCC is connecting our community with careers,” said R-CCC President Dr. Murray J. Williams. “We are meeting our students’ and our community’s needs, and we are excited about what the future holds for these incredible graduates.”

R-CCC Vice President of Instruction & Student Services Dr. Tanya Oliver applauded the graduates for their hard work and determination.

“Becoming a nurse is a calling and it takes so much work and dedication to graduate from the associate degree nursing program. There are long hours spent in class, clinicals and studying, and I couldn’t be more pleased with these results. Our graduates have a bright future ahead of them and we wish them the very best as they embark on their careers in the nursing field,” said Oliver.

The exam is given to RNs in the United States and internationally. Candidates may take the exam at any approved Pearson Professional Center. The closest testing locations for R-CCC graduates are in Greenville, Raleigh and Durham.

Employment opportunities for nurses include those in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, physician’s offices, and industry and community agencies. For more information about R-CCC’s ADN curriculum, call 252-862-1200 or visit roanokechowan.edu.
